Built for control

The important choices stay visible.

Honest lineage

Echo is an independent evolution of Hydra. The retained portions of that code keep their original MIT notice, even though Echo itself is proprietary software.

Cloud choice

The official service keeps setup simple. Self-hosting remains available for supported EchoCloud services.

Shared safeguards

Identity and network moderation remain coordinated across Echo instead of being presented as fully decentralized.

Straight answers

Before you join.

Is Echo open source?

No. Echo is proprietary software. It is an independent evolution of Hydra Launcher, and the retained Hydra code keeps its original MIT notice, but Echo's own source is not publicly available.

Is this a cloud gaming service?

No. Echo does not stream game video. It is a launcher with optional cloud services for supported features such as save access.

Can I self-host EchoCloud?

You can self-host supported EchoCloud services. Echo identity and network moderation remain shared and centrally coordinated.

Which platforms are supported?

Windows, macOS and Linux are all supported today. Windows and macOS builds are code-signed and notarized.

When will invites arrive?

Invites will open in small groups after the current quality and security gates are complete.
